Moving toward ERP

Over the past year I taught myself ERPNext and Odoo, starting from nothing and working toward two full implementations — requirement mapping, configuration, roles and permissions, workflows and reporting.

The first was a school operations build: mapping the admission, fee collection and reporting process a private school was actually using, then configuring that flow end to end — student and guardian masters, fee structures, receipt numbering, approval workflows for admissions and fee concessions, and print formats for receipts, transfer certificates and report cards.

Presales and implementation is where the freelance years and the design year actually meet: understanding a business well enough to show them the system that fits, then building it so people use it rather than work around it. That's the direction this is heading now.
